Bringing the North American Natural Fiber Industry into reality requires standardization. The Certified Sorted® System is the first step in that process, providing a standardized process by which the raw product, fiber, is sorted into grades by color, length and micron. Sorting fiber creates uniformity, the essential element in producing high quality products consistently.
A Certified Sorter can work year round, with live sorting offered during shearing season, and bag sorting during the off season which helps fiber producers clean out and put into production all the fiber stored in attics, barns, boats, summer homes and spare bedrooms!
New class structure!!! Natural Fiber producers include, alpaca, sheep, yak, bison, angora, cashmere. If you raise any of these types of fiber producing animals, then it benefits you to fully understand all natural fibers in order to maximize what you are producing. The base class will do just that. If you want to continue on and enter the apprenticeship, then you can do that as well. See the registration packet for the city you want to attend for a full description of the basic class and the apprenticeship program.
